Professional Development for Schools with Limited Funds Paper
Professional Development
Professional Development is an important asset for any school system whether it has the funds or not. There is a
need for Professional Development because it allows educators to stay current with new trends and pedagogies.
However, before Professional Development can occur there are important issues that must be examined.
Is the program or material being presented really needed?
How will the school plan and implement the program?
Should it be face-to-face or online delivery?
What about the evaluation of the program?
Schools, administration, teachers, and staff can be involved with Professional Development, but they must realize
there should be a need for it. If the program is not perceived to be necessary by those involved, then the end
result will be an ineffective and nonfunctional program as well as a waste of time and money.
There are four important categories for successful
Professional Development.
Before you start any Professional Development
here are two must read free online books.

Scope of the Site...
If the site is used to fullest potential
it will train the user in how to
produce and implement quality
effective professional development
with little or no funds. This site will
also educate and assist the user on
the importance of professional
development, how to recognize the
need for it and how to plan and
implement it. The site will also
instruct the user how important it is
to plan an appropriate evaluation of
the professional development
program and how to continue to
support it long term. The end
product should be one where a
planner can adequately prepare for
the professional development needs
of the school while saving time and
money in addition to having a quality
effective program. There is no time
frame for this site. It has unlimited
access as long as the user has access
to the Internet and the site is
available.
